Job summary

South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support young people with mental health difficulties in a specialist residential service. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, delivering OT led interventions, groups and assessments, while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Interest in working therapeutically with young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
• Good communication and teamwork within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Willingness to undertake further training and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT-led interventions, groups and assessments for resident young people.
• Deliver a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment in a specialist residential service.
• Engage in regular supervision and professional development opportunities and collaborate with the team.
• Support young people in decision making and contribute to joint care planning.
