Job summary

Chorley Hospital, operated by Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support a multidisciplinary team in the Mental Health Unit. You will help patients work towards independent living and a successful discharge from hospital.

The role involves assisting qualified occupational therapists, contributing to care plans, and using activity-based approaches to promote recovery.

Qualifications

• GCSE/level 5 in English and Maths or equivalent.
• Qualification in health or care.
• Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
• Ability to undertake PAS training.

Responsibilities

• Work within the occupational therapy team to enable patients to achieve optimum independence.
• Assist in planning and supporting timely discharge from hospital.
• Contribute to individual care plans and group activities.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues.
