Job summary

Keys Group is seeking Engage Mentors to deliver targeted interventions that support engagement, wellbeing, and re-entry into education for vulnerable young people in Cambridgeshire. You will work in community and educational settings delivering one-to-one sessions to help build resilience and safer life choices.

The role requires experience with safeguarding, SEND knowledge, and the ability to travel across Cambridgeshire.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with vulnerable children and young people.
  • Experience supporting those at risk of exploitation or criminal involvement.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SEND, trauma-informed practice, and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one interventions in community and educational settings.
  • Support young people to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
  • Deliver sessions on healthy relationships, online safety, and county lines awareness.
  • Use creative approaches to manage risk and promote positive decisions.
  • Build trusting relationships with young people and families.
  • Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce detailed professional reports.
  • Support pathways that enable young people to re-engage with education.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure all work is compliant with current legislation.
