Job summary

Keys Education seeks Engage Mentors to deliver targeted interventions supporting engagement, wellbeing and re-entry into education for vulnerable young people. The role involves travelling to community and educational settings and building strong relationships with learners and their families.

You will help young people overcome barriers, build confidence and make safer life choices, while upholding safeguarding policies and maintaining detailed records.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel.
• Enhanced DBS check required to work with young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, one-to-one interventions in community and educational settings.
• Support young people to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
• Deliver sessions on healthy relationships, online safety and county lines awareness.
• Use creative approaches to manage risk and promote safe decision-making.
• Build trusting relationships with young people and families.
• Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and produce professional reports.
• Support pathways that re-engage young people with education.

Working pattern: Zero-hours employed contract. Minimum 2 days per week, up to 5 days depending on availability. Term-time only. We are seeking Engage Mentors to deliver targeted interventions that support engagement, wellbeing, and re-entry into education. This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people overcome barriers, build confidence, and make safer, more positive life choices.

About the Role

• Deliver engaging, one-to-one interventions in community and educational settings
• Support young people to build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience
• Deliver sessions on topics such as healthy relationships, online safety, and county lines awareness
• Use creative and tailored approaches to help manage risk and encourage positive decision-making
• Build strong, trusting relationships with young people and their families
• Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Maintain accurate records and produce detailed professional reports
• Support pathways that enable young people to re-engage with education
• Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure all work is compliant with current legislation

Who We Support You

Will work with young people who may be:

• At risk of exploitation or criminal involvement
• Disengaged from education
• Vulnerable to unsafe relationships or environments
• Involved with, or at risk of entering, the criminal justice system
• GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)

Additional Requirements

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (with business insurance)
