Job summary

Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking a NEET Support Advisor to help 14-19 year olds (up to 25 with SEND) access education, training or work. You’ll provide tailored guidance, plan actions and work with schools and providers to keep young people on track.

You will build strong relationships with vulnerable young people, track progress and advocate for timely access to services, contributing to reduced NEET levels across Birmingham.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in education, youth work or social care.
• Level 4 in Advice & Guidance or Youth Work (desirable).
• Level 6 Careers Guidance (advantage).

Responsibilities

• Providing impartial careers information, advice and guidance.
• Supporting young people to set goals and create personal action plans.
• Delivering one-to-one guidance sessions and small group workshops.
• Building trusted relationships with vulnerable young people.
• Coordinating support through schools, colleges, training providers and other agencies.
• Advocating for young people to access the right services at the right time.
• Tracking progress, recording outcomes and celebrating achievements.
• Playing a key role in reducing NEET levels across Birmingham.
