Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking two Family Support Workers to help develop a new preventative service for vulnerable young people aged 16-18. One post is based at Central Buchan Office, Strichen, and the other at Wyness Hall, Inverurie.

You will deliver practical, relationship-based support within Youth Services, focusing on early help and transition planning to reduce crises. You will work with young people, families and partners to assess needs, agree support plans, and build trusted

Qualifications

Experience of working with young people, families or vulnerable groups.
Good communication, assessment, recording and partnership-working skills.
Understanding of trauma-informed, relational and strengths-based practice.
Confidence working with complexity, risk and changing family circumstances.
A practical, flexible and persistent approach to supporting young people and families.

Responsibilities

Provide practical, relationship-based support to young people and families within Youth Services.
Focus on early help, family support, transition planning and reducing risk of crisis.
Collaborate with partner agencies to assess needs and agree support plans.
Build trusted relationships and help young people move toward stability and independence.
