Job summary

RGB Recruitment Ltd in Penzance is seeking two Youth Development Workers to support young people aged 16–25 in a temporary accommodation setting. The role focuses on building confidence, life skills and progression towards independent living, through practical and emotional support.

You will work 37 hours weekly at £15.34 per hour on a two-month contract, with safeguarding and person-centred approaches at the core.

Qualifications

• Experience working with or supporting young people.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and support planning.
• Understanding of mental health and wellbeing challenges for vulnerable youth.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support and key worker sessions.
• Create and review personalised support and action plans.
• Complete risk assessments and manage safeguarding concerns.
• Support tenancy sustainment and housing-related needs.
• Assist with benefits applications and financial management.
• Help young people access education, training and employment opportunities.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to secure appropriate support.
• Prepare young people for move-on to independent accommodation.
