Job summary

Citizens Advice Sandwell & Walsall is seeking an Employment Support Worker to help young people aged 16-25 overcome barriers and move towards education, training, volunteering or employment. You will provide one-to-one and group support to build confidence and work-ready skills in a supportive, person-centred environment.

Role focuses on CV writing, job searching, interview prep, budgeting, safeguarding and building relationships with employers and partner organisations.

Qualifications

• Experience in youth support is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of young people.

Responsibilities

• Build confidence, independence and employability skills.

• Understand workplace expectations and develop work-ready skills.
• Explore education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities.
• Provide financial literacy support, including budgeting.
• Connect individuals with specialist services for additional support.
• Provide ongoing support, including longer-term follow-up after starting work.
• Build relationships with employers, training providers and partner organisations.
• Manage caseloads and maintain accurate casework records.
• Safeguard young people and provide safe, person-centred support.
