Job summary

Routes to Work South is seeking a Work Experience & Progressions Advisor to help young people gain meaningful workplace experience and progress into employment. You will identify and coordinate work placements, build relationships with employers and support learners through placement journeys.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in a client-facing employability or guidance role, strong communication, organised workload management, and a commitment to equality and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a client-facing employability or guidance role.
• Experience supporting young people to access employment, training or learning.
• Strong relationship-building with employers, colleagues and partners.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills with deadline discipline.
• Commitment to equality, inclusion and safeguarding best practices.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Source and coordinate suitable work placements matching learner needs and goals.
• Build positive relationships with employers and act as a primary contact before, during and after placements.
• Agree placement terms, share information, and conduct risk assessments as required.
• Prepare young people for the workplace, including attendance, conduct, and health and safety.
• Provide ongoing support and progress reviews, identifying next steps toward employment or training.
• Contribute to training delivery and development of progression routeways or sector pathways.
• Maintain accurate placement records, timesheets and monitoring information.
• Ensure safeguarding, data protection and documentation compliance at all times.
