Job summary

Lighthouse Learning Trust in Southampton is seeking an Employability Support Assistant to help young people with Education, Health and Care Plans gain real work experience during placements. You will support learners in the workplace, helping them learn and perform tasks while they are on the internship programme.

Ideally you hold a qualification in Supported Employment and training in Systematic Instruction; if not, the role provides that training.

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
• Experience talking to employers and coordinating placements.
• Ideally a Qualification in Supported Employment; Systematic Instruction training provided if not.
• Driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Support interns in their placements to learn and perform job tasks.
• Assist learners in transitioning to paid work through the internship programme.
• Coordinate with employers and college staff across two campuses (Richard Taunton Sixth Form College and St Vincent College).
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare requirements are met during placements.
