Job summary

Groundwork Cheshire, Lancashire & Merseyside is seeking an Employment Coach to support young people who are unemployed, economically inactive or at risk of becoming NEET in the Wigan area. You will blend group sessions with personalised one-to-one mentoring to build confidence, skills and a realistic pathway to work.

You will work with employers, education providers and local services to remove barriers and help participants move into employment, education or training with ongoing wellbeing

Responsibilities

• Delivering group workshops covering employability skills, personal development and workplace preparation
• Providing one-to-one coaching and career planning for each participant
• Preparing participants for sector tasters
• Offering wellbeing support and making referrals to specialist services
• Helping young people tackle barriers such as low confidence, limited work experience, caring responsibilities and skills gaps
• Working with employers, Job Brokers, education providers and local support services to create a smooth progression journey for each participant
