Job summary

Cornwall Council is seeking a Youth Engagement Officer to deliver interventions for NEET young people aged 16-24 across Cornwall. You will work within the Youth Engagement Provision to connect participants with education, training and employment opportunities.

The role focuses on empowering economically inactive individuals, creating personalised action plans, and collaborating with employers to progress participants into mainstream opportunities. 37 hours per week, public-facing role.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience working with 16-24 NEET individuals and understanding barriers to engagement.
• Knowledge of Cornwall's employers and opportunities in education, employment and training.
• Public sector English language requirement for applicants.

Responsibilities

• Deliver interventions to support NEET young people aged 16-24 to access opportunities.
• Recruit and support young people facing barriers to employment or training.
• Create personalised action plans and coordinate wraparound support with partners.
• Work with employers to identify suitable opportunities and provide follow-up support.
