Job summary

Cornwall Council is seeking a Full-time Youth Engagement Officer to join the Youth Engagement Provision (YEP). You will deliver interventions for NEET young people aged 16-24 to access education, employment and training, empowering them to engage with mainstream opportunities.

The role involves creating personalised action plans, working with employers and delivering wraparound support to help participants move into work or education in Cornwall.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience working with 16-24 NEETs and understanding barriers to engagement.
• Knowledge of employers in Cornwall and opportunities for young people in education, employment and training.
• Ability to create personalised action plans to help participants progress into work or training.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and support young people facing barriers to employment.
• Provide intensive and wraparound support to guide participants toward mainstream provision.
• Develop tailored employability programs in collaboration with employers and skills sectors.
• Follow up with participants and employers to ensure ongoing support and progression.
• Work with the Employment and Enterprise team to ensure coordinated provision.
