Job summary

Sandwell Council is seeking a creative and organized Content Officer to join the Children and Education Communications team, based at Oldbury. You will craft engaging digital and traditional content across videography, photography, design and copy, aligning with council priorities.

The role supports campaigns, provides performance insights and advises colleagues on audience engagement. It requires flexible hours, with occasional evenings/weekends, and a hybrid pattern of 3 days in the office and

Qualifications

• Educated to diploma level or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
• Professionally qualified in one or more creative disciplines such as graphic design, videography, photography, animation, web design or copywriting.
• Experience producing creative content for digital and/or traditional channels.
• Experience supporting communications, marketing or engagement campaigns.
• Ability to identify opportunities to create compelling stories and content.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality, engaging content to support Children and Education communications and marketing campaigns.
• Produce content across videography, photography, graphic design and written communications.
• Develop content for digital channels including websites, newsletters and social media.
• Support the delivery of corporate communications strategy and directorate marketing plans.
• Analyse campaign performance and audience insights to inform future activity.
• Draft social media content and engage with online audiences using appropriate tone and style.
• Contribute fresh ideas to improve campaign effectiveness and engagement.
• Provide guidance to colleagues on content creation and audience engagement.
