Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a Youth Development Worker to lead the delivery of Youth Work Services in the Wigtownshire area. The post requires significant experience with young people aged 12+ and the ability to work in community settings with our most vulnerable youths.

You will manage a team of part-time Youth Workers and volunteers, supporting activity development across Dumfries and Galloway, with opportunities for training and development within the post.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level in Youth Work or CLD, or equivalent with experience.
• Experience leading a team of part‑time youth workers and volunteers.
• Experience delivering youth work in community settings with young people aged 12+.
• Ability to work with young people in diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Youth Work Services within the Wigtownshire area.
• Manage a team of part-time Youth Workers and volunteers.
• Develop and support creative youth work activities and participation across Dumfries and Galloway.
