Job summary

North Yorkshire Youth is seeking a Youth & Community Development Worker to support youth clubs, recruit and develop volunteers, and coordinate volunteer Buddies across the Scarborough area.

This role focuses on delivering engaging activities, building confidence and skills, and promoting safeguarding, equality and inclusion while working closely with the community.

Hours range from 18.7 to 37.5 per week, with a salary of £27,401 per annum pro rata, and flexible part- or full-time arrangements.

Qualifications

• Has at least two years' experience working with young people.
• Has experience in community development and supporting volunteers.
• Is passionate about safeguarding, equality and inclusion.
• Has excellent communication, organisational and partnership-working skills.
• Can work independently, adapt to changing needs and support young people to reach their potential.
• Holds, or is willing to work towards, a Level 3 Youth Work qualification.
