Job summary

Kibble seeks a dedicated role to support learning and teaching in classrooms and to promote self‑discipline during transitions. You will assist with routines, accompany pupils to and from school, and help learners meet targets through tailored support and positive behaviour guidance.

The post emphasises safeguarding, Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training, and close collaboration with residential staff. The role is fixed‑term for 12 months with PVG checks and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HNC Level and SVQ level 3 in a relevant subject.
• Ability to interact in an appropriate manner with young people who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Inter-personal skills including liaising with colleagues across subjects.
• Patience and a sense of humour.

Responsibilities

• Report to assigned Service at 8.30am and report to senior staff on duty.
• Support young people through their morning routine, including basic hygiene and breakfasting.
• Accompany young people to and from school.
• Help pupils meet their targets in learning and teaching settings by explaining directions, promoting positive behaviour, assisting with learning difficulties, and providing one‑to‑one attention.
• Take part in lunchtime activities with young people.
• Advise and support pupils through education pathways, including reintegration where appropriate.
• Provide a safe environment and report progress in relevant records.
