Job summary

Dorset Council in Weymouth is seeking caring Youth Practitioners to join our residential homes and local community teams to help children and young people thrive. You will be a positive role model, building strong relationships and supporting a diverse group of young people, including those with neurodiversity.

We offer an extensive induction and training package, with access to Level 4 Therapeutic Care or Level 3 qualifications, regular supervision, and employee benefits including LGPS pension

Qualifications

• Experience or understanding of neurodiversity, including ADHD and Autism, would be beneficial.
• Extensive induction and training package available with qualification options (Level 4 or Level 3).
• Regular supervision and access to employee benefits and LGPS pension scheme.

Responsibilities

• Youth practitioners act as positive role models and uphold safeguarding practices.
• Support independence in daily tasks such as cooking and personal care skills.
• Organise daily activities and liaise with education, health and social care teams.
• Write and update care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
