Job summary

Dorset Council is seeking a Youth Practitioner to support young people on the edge of care or in foster placements. You will provide direct care in residential settings and community-based interventions, building relationships and delivering tailored support to help young people thrive.

Role requires evenings, weekends and sleep-in duties, with a 37-hour week and travel. Dorset offers funded training and clear progression routes within a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Hold or be willing to gain a QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and commit to ongoing development.
  • Full-time role, 37 hours per week, with significant travel and a vehicle as required.
  • Experience or willingness to deliver safeguarding, trauma-informed care and behaviour management.

Professional Qualifications
  • fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Childcare or the nationally recognised Level 4 Therapeutic Certificate in Childcare

Further Information

This is a full time role at 37 hours per week.

This post requires significant travel. You must have a vehicle (or transport we deem suitable) available for use as needed.
