A local council in Coventry is seeking dedicated Dementia support workers to join a new project enhancing care for young-onset dementia. The role involves developing tailored programs, providing crucial support, and promoting independence among individuals with dementia. Ideal candidates will possess strong social skills and a genuine passion for improving lives. This position is part-time (18 hours per week) on a fixed-term until March 2026, with opportunities for specialized training and career development.

What is the job role?
Are you passionate about working with people with Dementia? This could be the role for you! We are seeking warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated young-onset Dementia support workers to join a new project transforming our Dementia Day care into a single Dementia Hub for Coventry. The ethos is to enable people to live well with Dementia.
You will work 18 hours a week on a fixed-term basis until March 2026, focusing on young-onset dementia. The role involves offering bespoke programmes to help individuals develop coping strategies for independent living, including in their homes and community, through a 6- or 12-week programme.
As a keyworker, you will assess individual needs, develop coping techniques, promote independence, and apply a person-centred approach, ensuring respectful, dignified support that offers choice and control.
Coventry City Council offers employee benefits, specialised training, and support for career development. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK; sponsorship is not available. The role is subject to DBS checks, and the post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
