Job summary

ACEDA is seeking a Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Service Engineer to cover the York area. You will join a growing team delivering planned maintenance, reactive call-outs, fault finding, repairs and remedial works across fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.

The role requires accurate documentation, adherence to standards and quality management, and strong customer service. A full UK driving licence and proven field service experience are essential, with attractive career development

Qualifications

Proven experience in fire alarm service and maintenance.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Carry out routine servicing, fault-finding and repairs on fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
Assess system performance and recommend remedial work or improvements.
Complete accurate job sheets, risk assessments and method statements.
Communicate with clients professionally and provide updates on work progress.
Ensure all work complies with industry standards, regulations and safety requirements.
Manage stock, tools and equipment and support colleagues across the team.
Assist with audits and maintain regulatory accreditations as required.
