Job summary

North East Ambition is seeking a Year Manager to provide targeted support and promote pupil well‑being. The role focuses on safeguarding, behaviour management and collaboration with families and agencies to remove barriers to learning.

The post involves term‑time working with fixed-term status until 21 July 2027. The appointed person will work closely with staff to support pupils achieving their full potential in a GOOD school environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish productive relationships with pupils, families and other professionals.
• Calm and positive approach.
• Ability to sensitively understand the needs of children and their families.
• Ability to use initiative and apply effective problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with individuals, small groups or a whole class as needed.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensure safeguarding is rigorous and meticulous.
• Carry out on‑call duties to assist colleagues with behaviour management.
• Provide differentiated levels of support to pupils with behavioural issues, including those with special needs.
