Job summary

Humly North East is seeking a Year Manager for a secondary school in Amble. The role focuses on safeguarding, pastoral support, and mentoring to raise pupil attainment and wellbeing.

You will act as Deputy DSL, attend safeguarding and attendance meetings, and oversee records, behaviour, and referrals. The post involves partnering with families and external services to promote inclusive practice and positive outcomes for all students.

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding and Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities.
• Ability to attend CIN/CP meetings and liaise with external agencies.
• Proven skills in mentoring and supporting pupils with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Act as Deputy DSL and liaise with LADO, police and other agencies to ensure safeguarding is meticulous.
• Attend CIN or CP meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate records for year group safeguarding, attendance and behaviour.
• Refer students to external agencies and complete necessary documentation.
• Identify pupils needing support and plan intervention strategies with senior staff.
• Monitor attendance improvements with the EWO and support pupils with behavioural needs.
• Provide individual support and mentoring for distressed pupils and those with SEND.
• Organise meetings with parents to discuss welfare and school policy.
