RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. offers a Year in Industry placement for Electrical Engineering students in Swindon with a hybrid model (3 days onsite, the rest remote).

The role provides practical insight into offshore wind electrical design, system interfaces, and safety throughout the project lifecycle. Eligibility requires ongoing Electrical Engineering studies and a UK residence history of at least five years for vetting.

Qualifications

• Ongoing studies in Electrical Engineering and eligibility for year-in-industry placement.
• Very good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to other sites when required, travel expenses covered.
• UK residence in the last five years for vetting considerations.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical insight into electrical system design for offshore wind projects.
• Understand interfaces between transmission systems, substations, and wind turbine generators.
• Contribute to safe design and operation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support main electrical system design including onshore/offshore HVAC and HVDC systems.
• Create electrical system simulation models and analyze grid code compliance.
• Visit project sites to observe development and delivery.
