Job summary

WMJobs is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join Flash Ley Primary School, working predominantly in year 6 for 18.75 hours per week during term time. The role starts 2 November 2026 and is initially temporary for one year with a view to becoming permanent.

The post is Grade 3 (£26,427 full‑time equivalent) with an actual pro-rata salary of £13,173. The successful candidate will support learning, lead small intervention groups and contribute to the New Curriculum.

Qualifications

• Experience of working to support children’s learning in a relevant environment is essential.
• Experience of Year 6 SATS is desirable.
• Be able to work effectively within a team and on own initiative; flexible.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils’ learning, including working with individuals, groups and whole classes under the direction of the class teacher.
• Leading small intervention groups.
• Contribute to the creation of an appropriate learning environment through display and classroom organisation.
• Contribute to planning for and delivery of the New Curriculum.
• Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities using a range of assessment methods and provide evidence for assessment.
• Within the school’s disciplinary policy, apply behaviour management strategies to manage behaviour constructively.
• Use ICT effectively to support learning activities.
• Support and maintain positive links between home and school by welcoming parents and engaging with external agencies.
