Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Level 6 Qualified Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Merton, South West London. You will support teaching and learning across classrooms, deliver targeted interventions, and provide 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils progress academically, socially and emotionally.

The role starts September 2026, full-time, with a daily rate of GBP105–GBP120 depending on experience. Hours are 8:15am–3:30pm, term-time only, in a dynamic SEN-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised Level 6 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent relevant childcare/education qualification)
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant/SEN TA/Learning Support Assistant in a primary school
• Experience supporting children with SEND (ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language Needs, SEMH)
• Strong safeguarding/child protection knowledge
• Up-to-date safeguarding training is desirable
• GCSE English and Maths at C/4 or above or equivalent
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and behaviour management skills
