Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency is seeking a dedicated Year 6 Teaching Assistant to support Upper KS2 pupils in an Islington primary school. You will assist with English and Maths, nurture learning, and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

Year 6 Teaching Assistant - Upper KS2 - Islington

Location: Islington, North London

Salary: £100 per day PAYE

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm

Start Date: 5th October 2026 or sooner

SANZA are working with a wonderful and supportive primary school based in Islington who are looking for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team and support pupils across Upper KS2.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working with Year 5 and/or Year 6 pupils, alongside strong core subject knowledge in English and Maths. You will be confident supporting learning, building positive relationships with pupils and working effectively alongside the class teacher.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with KS2 pupils, particularly Years 5 and 6
• Strong English and Maths knowledge
• Excellent classroom support and behaviour management skills
• A nurturing, patient and proactive approach
