Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a Year 6 Class Teacher for a Portsmouth primary school starting November 2026. The position is fixed-term until August 2027, with options for full-time or a 3-day week and a salary range of PS £34,069 to £52,835 FTE.

The successful candidate will plan and deliver KS2 lessons, uphold high standards for learning and behaviour, and work closely with the school team to provide excellent pupil support. ECT induction is not suitable for this role.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Primary teaching experience, ideally with Year 6 or KS2 experience.
• Strong classroom management skills are essential.

Salary: MPS/UPS £34,069 - £52,835 FTE

Supply Desk are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Year 6 Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Portsmouth from November 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident Primary Teacher who enjoys creating an engaging learning environment, building strong relationships with pupils and supporting children to achieve their full potential.

The successful teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum, maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour, and working closely with the wider school team to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.

The school offers a supportive and friendly environment, with experienced staff and a strong commitment to pupil development and staff wellbeing.

The role is available on either a full-time basis or for 3 days per week and will run until August 2027, with the potential for the position to become permanent for September 2027 depending on staffing requirements.

Please note that this position is not suitable for ECT induction.
