Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd in Portsmouth is seeking a Year 6 Class Cover Teacher to join a welcoming primary school from November 2026. The role is fixed-term until August 2027 and available as full-time or 3 days per week.

You will plan and deliver engaging KS2 lessons, uphold high expectations for learning and behaviour, and work with staff to support pupils' development. QTS and KS2 experience are essential; ECT induction is not suitable.

• Salary: MPS/UPS £34,069 £52,835 FTE

Supply Desk are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Year 6 Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Portsmouth from November 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident Primary Teacher who enjoys creating an engaging learning environment, building strong relationships with pupils and supporting children to achieve their full potential.

The successful teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum, maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour, and working closely with the wider school team to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.

The school offers a supportive and friendly environment, with experienced staff and a strong commitment to pupil development and staff wellbeing.

The role is available on either a full-time basis or for 3 days per week and will run until August 2027, with the potential for the position to become permanent for September 2027 depending on staffing requirements.

Please note that this position is not suitable for ECT induction.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Primary teaching experience, ideally with Year 6 or KS2 experience
• Strong classroom management skills
• A nurturing and inclusive approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
