About The Role:

  • Plan, create, and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that align with the Primary school curriculum for Year 6 students, preparing them for SATs and the transition to secondary school.
  • Follow and adapt the school’s curriculum to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring lessons are tailored to individual abilities.
  • Ensure that all learning objectives are met, providing timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth and confidence.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and foster a positive learning environment, adhering to school policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded educational experience for all students.
  • Prepare students for end-of-key-stage assessments (SATs), ensuring they are confident and well-prepared.
  • Support students’ development in critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

About You:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have prior experience teaching in a primary school setting, ideally in Year 6.
  • Strong lesson planning and organisational skills, with the ability to design creative and engaging lessons that challenge and inspire.
  • Solid understanding of the Primary school curriculum, particularly the requirements for Key Stage 2 SATs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Confident in using data to track student progress, identify gaps, and inform teaching strategies.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and resilience in students, preparing them for secondary education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
