Northumberland Church of England Academy invites applications for a dedicated Class Teacher to deliver bespoke Year 6 provision for a small SEMH cohort. The role focuses on personalised learning, trauma-informed approaches and close collaboration with families, the SENCo and external partners.

This fixed-term, full-time post is for one year (Sept 2026–Aug 2027) with a strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering bespoke Year 6 provision for SEMH pupils.
• Trauma-informed, inclusive teaching with strong behaviour management.
• Strong collaboration with families, SENCo and external professionals.

Responsabilités

• Establish calm, positive and nurturing relationships with pupils, acting as a consistent and positive role model while maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning.
• Demonstrate responsive, reflective and trauma-informed practice to support pupils’ social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality teaching and learning tailored to the needs of a small SEMH cohort.
• Assess pupils’ needs and use detailed knowledge of SEND and adaptive teaching strategies to support progress.
• Develop, implement and review individual support plans, ensuring provision aligns with EHCP outcomes or SEN Support documentation.
• Work collaboratively with a full-time teaching assistant who supports the children in the provision.
• Work collaboratively with the school SENCo, the children’s families and external agencies to provide coordinated support.
