Job Title: Year 6 Teacher (Full-Time)

Contract: Fixed-term for the full academic year
Salary: M1 – M6 (dependent on experience)
Location: Yeovil, Somerset

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join our team from September 2026 for the full academic year. This is a full-time position with full teaching responsibilities, offering an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in pupils’ final year of primary education.

The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing pupils for their SATs while ensuring a supportive, engaging, and structured learning environment that enables all learners to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the Year 6 curriculum
  • Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Prepare pupils effectively for SATs, tracking progress and addressing gaps in learning
  • Establish and maintain high expectations for behaviour using positive and proactive strategies
  • Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress in line with school policies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and leadership
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 (preferably Year 6)
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of SATs preparation and assessment
  • Show a proactive and positive approach to behaviour management
  • Be skilled in thoughtful, well‑paced lesson planning
  • Be committed to supporting pupils both academically and pastorally
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
