Job summary

Academics is seeking a Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Gravesend. The role starts with full-time teaching from October 2026, moving to 2–3 days per week from January 2027.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, manage classrooms effectively, and support pupils' academic and personal development. The successful candidate will hold QTS, have KS2 experience, and hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• QTS is essential.
• Experience teaching KS2, Year 5 preferred.
• Strong classroom management and engaging lessons.
• DBS Enhanced is required or willing to apply for Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Teach Year 5 full-time from October to December 2026.
• Transition to part-time 2–3 days per week from January to July 2027.
• Collaborate with school team to support pupils' academic and personal development.

Location: Gravesend, Kent

Start Date: October 2026

Contract: Full-time initially, moving to part-time

QTS: Essential

DBS: Enhanced DBS required

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Gravesend.

The successful candidate will teach full-time, 5 days per week, from October to December 2026. From January 2027 through to July 2027, the role will transition to part-time, 2-3 days per week, offering excellent flexibility for the remainder of the academic year.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
• Be confident planning and delivering engaging lessons
• Have strong classroom management skills
• Be committed to supporting pupils' academic and personal development
• Work effectively as part of a supportive school team
• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new enhanced DBS immediately
