Long Term Futures Ltd is seeking an experienced Year 5 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with autism and behavioural/trauma-related needs in a West London primary school.

Based in Hammersmith & Fulham, the role requires calm, resilient, and consistent support, with close collaboration with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team. Immediate start, full-time, long-term contract with ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with autism and challenging behaviour.
• Background in SEN, behaviour mentoring, youth work, psychology or similar settings encouraged.
• Ability to manage dysregulation and maintain calm in demanding situations.
• Understanding boundaries, routine and relationship-based support.

Responsabilités

• Providing targeted 1:1 support within a Year 5 classroom.
• Supporting a pupil with autism and trauma-related needs.
• Assisting with emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Supporting transitions and challenging periods of the school day.
• Building a consistent, trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Working with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team.
