Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a caring and reliable Primary Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 class in SE5, South East London. You will help pupils engage with the primary curriculum, assist with learning activities and contribute to a positive learning environment.

The role focuses on supporting Key Stage 2 pupils, collaborating with the teaching team, and helping pupils reach their full potential with patient, proactive and enthusiastic support.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
• Confident supporting Key Stage 2 pupils.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patient, proactive and enthusiastic about supporting children's learning.
• Confident helping pupils with different abilities and learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities.
• Work with Year 5 pupils to reinforce learning across the primary curriculum.
• Provide additional support to pupils who need help understanding tasks and concepts.
• Assist with preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
• Help maintain a positive, safe and engaging learning environment.
• Encourage pupils' participation, confidence and independence.
• Support classroom behaviour and work collaboratively with the teaching team.
