Job summary

Academics is recruiting a Year 5 and Year 6 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in Doncaster for temporary, flexible supply across primary schools. The role involves supporting upper Key Stage 2, delivering lessons, and leading interventions to prepare pupils for SATs and transition to secondary school.

Ideal candidates will have HLTA status and experience in primary education, with strong classroom management and DBS update service. Flexible start ASAP or a date that suits you.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification
• Experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary school
• Confidence leading lessons and managing a classroom
• Strong communication, organisation and behaviour-management skills
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons across Years 5 and 6
• Support English, maths and SATs preparation
• Lead small-group interventions and provide learning support
• Maintain positive behaviour and engaging learning environment
• Work with teachers to support progress and pupil wellbeing
