Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a Year 5 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Birkenhead to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil throughout the school day. You will help the pupil access learning, manage emotions and build independence in a welcoming primary setting.

The role runs from September 2026 to July 2027, is full-time, and requires a compassionate, consistent approach with strong teamwork with the class teacher and SENDCo.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable.
• Strong communication with teacher and SENDCo.
• Reliable and patient approach to pupil support.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil
• Supporting access to the curriculum
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo
• Supporting the pupil during lessons, break and lunchtime
• Helping develop confidence and independence
