Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Sudbury. The role is full-time and runs until the end of the academic year, with responsibilities spanning in-class and targeted support for Year 3 pupils.

You will work alongside the class teacher and SEND team to implement strategies, support learning, and help pupils participate fully in school life with patience and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEND.
• Experience working within a primary school environment.
• Confidence working on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils to access the Year 3 curriculum and classroom activities.
• Help develop children's confidence, independence and social skills.
• Follow individual learning and support strategies where required.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team.
• Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Monitor pupil engagement and progress and communicate observations to staff.
• Adapt activities and resources to make learning accessible.
• Encourage pupils to participate fully in classroom and wider school activities.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
