Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a Year 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to support within a semi-formal classroom in a specialist SEN setting in Warrington. This general classroom support role works closely with the class teacher and the wider support team to help pupils access learning through structured activities, practical tasks, communication support and sensory-based learning.

The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable and comfortable supporting younger pupils with additional needs.

Qualifications

• Experience within SEN beneficial.
• Experience with autism, MLD, SLD or communication needs is advantageous.
• Candidates from care, support work, nursery or mainstream primary backgrounds may also be suitable.

Responsibilities

• Support learning through structured activities, practical tasks, and sensory-based learning.
• Help pupils engage, follow routines, develop communication and independence.
• Work with the class teacher and wider support team to assist individuals and small groups.
