Job summary

Supply Desk is partnering with a welcoming primary school in West Drayton to recruit a Year 2 Teacher. The role suits an Early Career or experienced KS1 teacher dedicated to supporting pupils through a key transition to KS2.

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will deliver a broad, balanced KS1 curriculum, manage a positive classroom, and support pupils to achieve reading, writing, maths, and phonics targets. DBS checks and Safer Recruitment compliance apply.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – desirable.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 1 or Early Years.
  • Strong KS1 curriculum knowledge and assessment expectations.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisation.
  • Creative, engaging, and structured teaching style.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in Year 2 and phonics programmes.
  • Experience preparing pupils for KS1 SATs.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned to the KS1 national curriculum.
  • Support reading, writing, maths and phonics development.
  • Prepare pupils for end of KS1 SATs.
  • Monitor progress and inform interventions with data.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and school staff.
