Job summary

A local primary school in Lowestoft, Suffolk is looking to appoint a Year 2 Teacher for the remainder of the academic year. The successful candidate will support progress across Key Stage 1 and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment.

Take responsibility for a Year 2 class, deliver lessons across KS1, strengthen phonics, reading fluency, writing and number skills, monitor progress and plan targeted support, and work with teaching assistants to support pupils’ needs.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has primary teaching experience or confidence teaching Year 2.
• Can create engaging lessons and maintain clear routines.
• Uses assessment to identify next steps in learning.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for a Year 2 class.
• Deliver lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Strengthen phonics, reading fluency, writing and number skills.
• Monitor progress and plan targeted support where necessary.
