Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd. is partnering with a welcoming primary school in SL2 to appoint a dedicated Year 2 Teacher for an ASAP start. The role suits Early Career or experienced KS1 teachers committed to delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils as they transition to KS2.

You will deliver a broad, balanced curriculum, maintain a positive classroom environment, and differentiate to meet varying abilities, including SEN support. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• QTS desirable.
• Experience teaching KS1 or Early Years.
• Strong understanding of KS1 curriculum and assessment expectations.
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• A creative, engaging, and structured teaching style.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum.
• Support pupils’ development in reading, writing, maths, and phonics.
• Prepare pupils for end of KS1 assessments (SATs).
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and interventions.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Encourage pupil independence, resilience, and confidence.
• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN.
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers and staff.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team.

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in SL2 to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Early Career or experienced Key Stage 1 teacher to join a nurturing school environment and support pupils at a crucial stage in their primary education.

This role would suit a passionate and adaptable teacher with a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, who is committed to delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils as they prepare for their transition into Key Stage 2.

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, creating a positive and structured classroom environment where pupils feel supported, challenged, and motivated to succeed.

• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum
• Supporting pupils’ development in reading, writing, maths, and phonics
• Preparing pupils for end of Key Stage 1 assessments (SATs)
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and interventions

• Experience in Year 2
• Knowledge of phonics programmes (e.g. Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds)
• Experience preparing pupils for KS1 SATs
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (SEN)
