Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting for a Year 1 SEND Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a pupil in Knowsley. The role is full-time, running 08:30–15:30 with a 30-minute lunch break, and initially temporary with potential for permanency.

You will support a Year 1 pupil, help deliver catch-up sessions, assist the class teacher with planning, and promote an inclusive classroom where every child belongs. A Level 2/3 childcare qualification or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting.
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands‑on experience.

Responsibilities

• Supporting a Year 1 pupil one-to-one, responding to their individual needs.
• Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps.
• Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources.

We're currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Knowsley to work one-to-one with a Year 1 child. This role is on a long-term basis, starting as soon as possible and is a temporary role. The full-time working hours are 08:30am- 15:30pm and you will have a 30-minute lunch break.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
