Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Atherton, M46 to support groups of children and one-to-one learners across KS1 and KS2. This full-time, long-term temporary role runs 08:30–15:30 with a 30-minute lunch break.

Ideal candidates will have recent school experience, solid numeracy and literacy, and a Level 2/3 childcare qualification or equivalent experience. APSCo-compliant, flexible placement options available.

We're currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Atherton, M46 to work with groups of children and on a one-to-one basis across KS1 and KS2. This role is on a long-term basis, starting as soon as possible and is a temporary role. The full-time working hours are 08:30am- 15:30pm and you will have a 30-minute lunch break.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting children with SEND, responding to their individual needs
  • Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps
  • Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources
  • Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong
Requirements or Skills:
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting
  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
