Job summary

GSL Education is partnering with a Newham school to recruit a qualified Year 1 Teacher for a long-term, full-time post starting September 2026. The role is based in Newham/Silvertown, with hours from 8:00 to 16:30, offering a stable teaching environment within a supportive team.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS, have strong subject knowledge for early years/KS1, and be available for interviews and an immediate start. DBS on update service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Year 1 teaching experience is required.
• Planning responsibilities are part of a long-term role.
• DBS must be registered with the update service.
• 2-3 professional references covering 2-3 years.
• Proof of right to work in the UK, proof of NI, and address dated within last three months.

Responsibilities

• Teach Year 1 class to deliver early years/ KS1 curriculum.
• Plan lessons as part of a long-term role.
• Support ECTs and maintain high teaching standards.

We are seeking a qualified Year 1 Teacher for a school in Newham.

• Position: Year 1 Teacher
• Location: Newham, Silvertown
• Hours - 8-4.30 pm
• Long-term / Full-time
• Start date: September 2026
• Daily rate : £140-£180

Please note that QTS is a must for this role

Requirements:

• Teaching in Year 1 class
• Planning is required as part of the long term role
• School would take on strong ECT
• Must have QTS
• Strong subject knowledge.
• Commitment to a full-time, long-term role
• A valid DBS registered on the update service.
• 2-3 professional references covering a minimum of 2-3 years of employment history.
• Must be available for an immediate interview and start date.
• Proof of right to work in the UK
• Proof of national insurance
• Proof of address (dated within the last three months)
