Job summary

The Education Specialists are seeking a dedicated Primary School Teacher for a Year 1 maternity cover in Bootle. The role is full-time and temporary, starting January for two terms, within a supportive school environment committed to pupil progress.

The successful candidate will hold QTS, have UK primary experience, and be able to plan engaging, differentiated lessons while monitoring progress and safeguarding pupils. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• QTS required and experience in a UK primary setting.
• Strong knowledge of the KS1 primary curriculum is essential.
• Year 1 teaching experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to the primary curriculum.
• Teach a Year 1 class during the maternity cover period.
• Differentiate teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
• Monitor and track pupil progress and provide feedback.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment and work with staff.

Primary School Teacher – Year 1 Maternity Cover

The Education Specialist (TES) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Bootle, teaching a Year 1 class.

This is a full-time, temporary maternity cover position starting in January and running for 2 terms, until the end of the academic year. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching within a supportive and well-structured school environment.environment.The school has a strong focus on pupil progress and inclusive learning, with a collaborative staff team and a positive learning culture, making it an excellent opportunity for a Primary Teacher looking to develop their practice in a supportive setting.

Primary Teacher role requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within a UK primary school setting
• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly KS1
• Experience teaching Year 1 is desirable
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A proactive and reflective approach to teaching
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply

The successful Primary Teacher will:
