Job summary

Engage Partners Limited is assisting a welcoming primary school in Watford to recruit a Year 1 Class Teacher. The role involves planning and delivering lessons across the KS1 curriculum, and supporting phonics and early literacy development to build confidence in emerging readers and writers.

The ideal candidate holds QTS, has UK primary teaching experience, and demonstrates strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• QTS required and UK primary teaching experience.
• Experience teaching Year 1/KS1 or EYFS desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for a Year 1 class.

• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Support pupils transitioning from EYFS into Key Stage 1.
• Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Support pupils with a range of abilities and additional needs.

The Role

• Patient, organised and enthusiastic
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passionate about helping young children develop confidence and a love of learning
