Tradewind Recruitment, Broxbourne-based, is seeking an experienced Year 1 Teacher for an immediate start in a London Fringe school. The role is full-time and long-term, with a competitive MPS1-UPS3 salary.

Year 1 Teacher - Immediate StartFull-Time | Long-term | London Fringe MPS1-UPS3 | £35,602-£54,328 per annum

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire.

The school is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join their team for an immediate start.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to lead a Year 1 class and play a key role in supporting pupils as they continue their transition through Key Stage 1. The successful candidate will create a stimulating, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where children feel confident, supported, and motivated to learn.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and purposeful lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum.
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, using assessment information to inform future planning and identify appropriate interventions.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of behaviour, motivation, and classroom discipline.
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every child can achieve their potential.
  • Develop strong and positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Participate fully in school life, including staff meetings, professional development, and wider school initiatives.
  • Take responsibility for a subject area where required, contributing to the school's wider teaching and learning strategy.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally with Year 1 experience.
  • A strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a calm and purposeful learning environment.
