Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive mainstream primary school in Fulwood, Preston, to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher for a full-time, fixed-term 12-month position commencing in January 2027.

The successful candidate will take on full class responsibility, including planning, preparation, assessment and parent communication, while becoming an integral member of the school's Key Stage 1 team.

Qualifications

• QTS is required.
• Experience teaching EYFS or KS1 is essential.
• Strong understanding of Year 1 curriculum and child development.
• Proven ability to deliver phonics and support early reading attainment.
• Excellent classroom management and high expectations for learning and behaviour.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Commitment to maintaining a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Full-time teaching in a Year 1 class.
• Lead planning, preparation and assessment responsibilities.
• Deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with KS1 curriculum.
• Lead high-quality phonics teaching to support early reading.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet learners' needs.
• Foster a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and support staff for best pupil outcomes.
