Job summary

The Education Specialists (TES) are supporting a one-form-entry primary school in Birkenhead to appoint a dedicated Primary Teacher for maternity cover starting after October Half Term 2026. You will deliver engaging lessons, adapt plans to meet all pupils’ needs and support their academic and personal development.

You should hold QTS or an equivalent qualification, have recent primary teaching experience and be able to build positive relationships quickly.

Qualifications

• QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
• Recent experience teaching within a primary school
• Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching effectively

Primary Teacher – Maternity Cover Opportunity The Education Specialists (TES) are delighted to be working with a welcoming and well-established one-form-entry primary school in Birkenhead, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to cover a maternity leave from after the October half-term.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit school community where staff work collaboratively to provide a positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment for pupils.

The school is looking for a teacher who can quickly establish positive relationships with pupils, deliver engaging lessons and become a valued member of the school team for the duration of the maternity cover.

About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to a primary class, planning and adapting lessons to meet the needs of all pupils and supporting their academic and personal development.

The successful teacher will:
